Celebrating Heritage Day – Honouring Our Diversity
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we believe that the strength of our company lies not only in what we do, but in who we are. South Africa is a country rich in cultures, languages, and traditions, and on Heritage Day we took the opportunity to celebrate this diversity within our own team. To mark the occasion, our staff came together in the true spirit of unity and ubuntu. We split into groups representing various South African cultures—including Venda, Zulu, Afrikaans, Indian, and more—and each team proudly showcased the traditions, dress, and identity of that culture. The day was vibrant, colourful, and filled with learning as colleagues shared stories, laughter, and appreciation for one another’s backgrounds.
The celebration ended with a traditional braai, bringing everyone around the fire to enjoy good food, great company, and the spirit of togetherness that makes Heritage Day so special.
For us, this was more than just a celebration—it was a reminder that our differences are what make us strong. By embracing and honouring each other’s heritage, we continue to build a workplace that is inclusive, respectful, and united.
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we are proud of our diverse and amazing team, and we remain committed to creating a culture where every individual feels valued and every heritage is celebrated.
Fundraising Golf Day – Supporting Harties Tennis Club
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we are committed to supporting initiatives that go beyond business and create real impact in our communities. On [insert date], we had the privilege of taking part in a fundraising Golf Day at Seasons Golf Course in Brits, in support of the Harties Tennis Club.
The event brought together community members, local businesses, and sports enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition, networking, and plenty of laughs. More importantly, it was an opportunity to rally behind a cause that promotes youth development, community wellness, and growth through sport.
By backing the Harties Tennis Club, we are helping to ensure that aspiring athletes—especially young people from the local community—have access to the facilities, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive. The Club plays a vital role in promoting an active lifestyle, nurturing discipline through sport, and creating positive alternatives for the youth.
The Golf Day was not only a resounding success in raising funds but also in building stronger connections between like-minded organisations and individuals who share a vision of investing in community upliftment.
We are proud to stand alongside partners and community leaders who believe, as we do, that sport has the power to transform lives.
Mandela Day – Restoring Play at Opkyk Pathways School
Every year, Mandela Day reminds us of the power of giving back and the responsibility we each carry to make a difference in our communities. At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we embrace this day as an opportunity to contribute meaningfully and to honour the legacy of Madiba through action.
For Mandela Day, our team dedicated time and resources to the learners of Opkyk Pathways School for Special Needs Children. Recognising the importance of play in childhood development—particularly for children with special needs—we took on the task of repairing, upgrading, and repainting the school’s jungle gym. What was once a worn and weathered play area was transformed into a safe, vibrant, and inviting space where learners can enjoy outdoor activities, build motor skills, and engage with one another in a joyful environment. Bright new colours and sturdy repairs brought fresh life to the jungle gym, turning it back into a place of laughter, fun, and growth.
The smiles on the children’s faces as they explored their renewed play space captured the true spirit of Mandela Day—giving our time and effort to uplift others. For our team, this initiative was more than just a project; it was a reminder of the profound impact that small acts of care can have on young lives.
We are proud to have partnered with Opkyk Pathways School in this initiative and remain committed to supporting organisations that empower and nurture children with special needs. At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we believe that by working together, we can build communities that are more inclusive, compassionate, and full of opportunity.
Partnering for Impact: Supporting the Bobby Motaung Foundation
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we recognise that our role as a business extends beyond commercial success. As a proudly South African company, we are deeply committed to making a positive, lasting impact in the communities we serve. Our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) efforts are rooted in the belief that true transformation begins with empowerment—empowering individuals, families, and communities to build a better future for themselves.
As part of this commitment, Phatsema Projects & Supplies is proud to be a key sponsor of the Bobby Motaung Foundation—an organisation that shares our vision for social development, youth empowerment, and community upliftment. The Foundation focuses on creating opportunities for disadvantaged communities through a variety of initiatives, including education support, youth and sports development, health awareness, and skills development programmes.
Our sponsorship, in collaboration with Agape Water, is more than just financial support—it is a partnership rooted in shared values and a common goal: to bring real change where it is needed most. Through this relationship, we have had the privilege of contributing to projects that nurture young talent, encourage academic and personal growth, and promote a culture of giving back.
Some of the initiatives supported by the Foundation include:
- Youth development programmes that focus on leadership, life skills, and mentorship.
- Sports development aimed at identifying and nurturing athletic talent in township and rural communities.
- Community outreach initiatives that include school support drives, food parcels, and health education campaigns.
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we believe that the private sector has a responsibility to be an active participant in addressing the socio-economic challenges facing our country. Our involvement with the Bobby Motaung Foundation is a testament to our dedication to playing our part in building a stronger, more inclusive South Africa.
We are grateful to partner with an organisation that is making such a meaningful difference, and we are equally proud to stand alongside Agape Water, whose commitment to clean water access and community wellness complements this impactful work.
Together, we are investing in hope, dignity, and opportunity—and we look forward to continuing this journey of change and upliftment.
Christmas Party 2021 – Spreading Joy at Hope Haven
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we understand the importance of giving back—especially during the festive season, when many children and families face the reality of going without. In December 2021, we had the honour of bringing smiles and festive cheer to the children of Hope Haven through our annual Christmas initiative.
As part of our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, Phatsema hosted a Christmas Party at Hope Haven, a place of safety and care for vulnerable children. The event was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful moments as our team handed over Christmas gifts to the children—each thoughtfully selected to ensure that every child felt seen, valued, and celebrated.
For us, this initiative was about more than just gifts. It was about spreading hope, sharing kindness, and showing young people that they are loved and supported. The excitement on the children’s faces and the gratitude expressed by the caregivers reminded us of the deep impact that small gestures can have.
The Christmas Party was made possible through the dedication of our team, the support of our partners, and our ongoing commitment to uplifting the communities around us. Hope Haven continues to do incredible work, providing a nurturing environment for children in need, and we are proud to support their mission in any way we can.
This event stands as a reminder that corporate social investment doesn’t always require large-scale projects—sometimes, the most powerful impact comes from simply showing up, giving back, and sharing joy.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with Hope Haven and supporting similar initiatives that restore dignity and bring hope to those who need it most.
Golf Day – Supporting the Harties Tennis Club
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we are passionate about investing in initiatives that strengthen communities and promote active, healthy lifestyles. As part of our commitment to sports development and youth engagement, we proudly sponsored a Golf Day event in support of the Harties Tennis Club.
The event brought together local business leaders, community members, and sports enthusiasts for a day of networking, friendly competition, and, most importantly, fundraising for a worthy cause. Our sponsorship contributed directly to the development and maintenance of the club’s facilities, ensuring that aspiring tennis players—particularly youth from under-resourced backgrounds—have access to quality training and safe recreational spaces.
The Harties Tennis Club plays a vital role in the Hartebeespoort community by promoting grassroots sports development, encouraging discipline through athletics, and creating positive alternatives for young people. We share their belief that sport can be a powerful tool for empowerment, unity, and personal growth.
Phatsema Projects & Supplies is honoured to support the Club’s mission and help foster opportunities for young talent to thrive both on and off the court. The success of the Golf Day not only raised funds but also raised awareness about the importance of supporting local sports development in South Africa.
We remain committed to backing initiatives that promote wellness, opportunity, and inclusion—and we look forward to future collaborations with organisations like the Harties Tennis Club that are driving real impact in their communities.
Winter Warmer & Fun Day – Supporting Makgope Primary School
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we believe that every child deserves warmth, joy, and the chance to simply be a child—no matter their circumstances. As part of our continued commitment to community upliftment, we were proud to sponsor a Winter Warmer and Fun Day for the learners of Makgope Primary School.
With winter in full swing, many children in underprivileged communities face the cold months without proper clothing. To help meet this need, we provided warm winter clothes—including jackets, beanies, scarves and gloves—to ensure that each child was protected from the harsh winter chill. Seeing the excitement on the learners’ faces as they received their new clothing reminded us of the deep impact small acts of kindness can make.
But the day didn’t stop there.
To celebrate the occasion, we hosted a full fun day for the children, filled with games, delicious food, snacks, and goodies. From jumping castles to friendly competitions and music, the atmosphere was one of laughter, playfulness, and pure joy. Our team spent the day engaging with the children and school staff, creating memories that will last long after the season has passed.
The event was not only about meeting basic needs, but also about restoring dignity, bringing joy, and reinforcing the message that these young learners are seen, supported, and valued.
We are grateful to the Makgope Primary School staff for their warm welcome and partnership, and to every member of our team who contributed to making the day a success. This initiative reflects our core belief that uplifting communities starts with caring for their most vulnerable—our children.
Phatsema Projects & Supplies remains committed to making a difference, one initiative, one child, and one act of kindness at a time.
Dr Mathews Phosa Marathon
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we are proud to align ourselves with initiatives that champion real social change. Our support of the Dr Mathews Phosa Marathon reflects our commitment to causes that go beyond sport – causes that build communities, promote inclusion, and inspire progress.
The marathon is more than just a race. It is a movement for community development activism, using the universal language of sport to unite people from all walks of life. The event creates a platform for awareness, participation, and empowerment, encouraging communities to come together in the spirit of health, resilience, and shared purpose.
One of the most impactful aspects of the marathon is its focus on inclusion. Persons with disabilities are not only welcomed but encouraged to participate, ensuring that no one is left behind. This spirit of accessibility and equality speaks directly to our values at Phatsema, where we believe that progress must include every member of society.
The marathon also plays a vital role in youth development by inspiring young people to get involved, stay active, and see themselves as part of something bigger. By combining sport with social impact, the event creates opportunities for mentorship, motivation, and personal growth – planting seeds of leadership and resilience in the next generation.
Through our involvement, we stand behind the vision of using sport as a catalyst for change. We support the marathon not only as a day of running but as a celebration of unity, empowerment, and community upliftment.
At Phatsema Projects & Supplies, we believe in investing in initiatives that leave a lasting legacy. The Dr Mathews Phosa Marathon embodies that belief – running towards a future where development, inclusion, and social justice are at the heart of our communities.
